Sound Off doesn't collect anything about you. This page explains exactly what that means, and what Apple sees on our behalf.
What we collect
Nothing identifying. The app has no account, no sign-in, and no analytics SDK. We don't track you across sessions, devices, or installs. We don't know who you are.
What runs on your device
Transcription, caption rendering, and video export all happen locally on your iPhone. Your videos and audio never leave the device. The speech model is Apple's SpeechAnalyzer, included with iOS 26, and runs without any network calls.
What Apple sees on our behalf
Apple gives every app maker a small set of anonymous, aggregated numbers about how the app is doing. We see:
- How many people use the app. Total installs, how many people opened it this week, how many came back the next week. Counts only, never tied to anyone in particular.
- If the app crashes. If you've left "Share with App Developers" turned on in iPhone Settings, we get an anonymous note that a crash happened and roughly where in the code. No clip data, no personal info.
- Whether you've paid. Apple tells the app "this device has unlocked Pro" or "this device hasn't." We don't see your Apple ID, your email, or your payment details.
That's the entire list. We don't combine any of this with anything else, and we don't run any analytics or tracking of our own on top of it.
If you contact support
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you wrote in the message. We use those to reply. We don't add you to a mailing list, sell the address, or retain the message beyond resolving your issue.
Children
Sound Off is rated 4+. Because we don't collect anything from anyone, no special handling is needed for children either: there's no age gate and no parental consent flow.
Changes
If we ever change this policy, for example, if a future version of the app adds optional telemetry, we'll update the date at the top of this page. The change will be visible the next time you visit. We won't make material privacy changes silently.
